Greenhouse 4/10/08
Ok, the Greenhouse post for this week, where to start…
First of all, we had been having a lot of problems before we got started, like my digital effects unit and amp misbehaving and not doing what I told it to, Ash’s truck broke down, some other small issues, but it finally culminated in the the air conditioner breaking down. With all this stuff happening, we knew it was one of two things. Either 1, God was testing our faithfulness (though not quite Job-like proportions) or 2, God was going to do something awesome, and the Enemy was trying desperately to hinder it. We prayed and then started our practice. The set was as follows,
Happy Day by Tim Hughes
Sing to the King
Blessed Be Your Name by Matt Redman
No Other Name by Unhindered
Then Ash and a relative newcomer to the Greenhouse, JF, spoke about shining your light. They had a good demonstration where they blindfolded a volunteer, lead the over to the corner of the room and spun them around. Then another volunteer called to them and directed him back to the stage. They did it again, but this time, the helper had to be silent, and it was much harder for the blindfolded person to find them. Ash and JF continued to speak, and also used the example of having a bright flashlight, and and putting a sheet over it. They then played a CD of Stellar Kart’s new album, Expect the Impossible, and listened to the song “Shine Like the Stars” The band came up and we played the second set, which was much more reflective than the first.
Father Will You Come by Unhindered
Turn by Nate Davis
You Never Let Go by Matt Redman
Trading My Sorrows
I think that tonight we had one of the best worship sessions we’ve had in a long time. It was so awesome, and I could feel the Holy Spirit there with us… It was nothing short of amazing. Well, that’s this week, so keep checking back, and check out the new Greenhouse Website!
